school pictures!

isn't it crazy? aviyah has school pictures!

kikar times

today, we went to times square to visit the toys r' us store. it was a little funny because it was like we were tourists. we took pictures of all the lights, and aviyah watched the big television in the center. she _loved_ geoffrey the giraffe and sent him looooots of kisses.

we've been working alot with her to stop whining. i think she's been getting better. one day, both samantha and i were home so we were able to double team her and stay consistent. then, she started to understand that both of us were going to to say no if she whined. i recognize that she still is young, but i want her to understand that whining isn't appropriate behavior and we have words and signs we can use to ask for things now. when i see students in 7th grade perform behaviors, i know that they do them because they've been successful. i think it's a longer conversation, but i think the larger idea should be that whining is not a successful behavior.

aviyah is a little sick today. she started to have a little cough last night, and she was definitely fussy today.



samantha is almost 5 months pregnant. she has her ultrasound pictures next week. b"h, everyone will be healthy. last visit, they asked samantha to take vitamins because her iron was low. we also will find out if the babu is a boy or a girl.

aviyah started to try to really jump yesterday. somehow, it kind of morphed into a happy feet dance.

aviyah is getting more and more words. she's even saying more and more words in hebrew. i've been working with her on getting right hand/left hand, right foot/left foot, and she's getting closer.

tomorrow, i think i'm going to try to take her to the big fao schwartz in manhattan. it's a little bit harder to take her out htis week because of daylight savings time, and the time's a bit crazy.

since the sun has been going down earlier, she's been able to be up for the lighting of shabbat candles. it's really cute. she covers her eyes too. the funny part is that she always asks to keep lighting the candles even during the day during the week.

papa, it really means a lot to us that you came to visit. i know it's not easy, but it really really shows how much you really really do love aviyah. and, she loves you!
